Trudy Johnston
Trudy has over 27
years in the wastewater treatment and solids management field, with 23 years as
a consultant. She is President and partner with
Material Matters. Her primary interests include developing innovative
beneficial uses for biosolids and other residuals, optimizing biosolids
processing, and evaluating and resolving biosolids product odors. [Resume]
Dr. Robin C. Brandt
Robin is responsible for development of new initiatives and peer review of technical
project elements / procedures related to land-based beneficial use assignments. He
also serves as a project manager, officer, and partner with Material Matters and
coordinator / liaison on selected projects involving consultation with
Pennsylvania State University faculty and / or service providers. [

Stefan Weaver
Stefan has over 12 years of professional experience, mostly in biosolids management. He is an ARCPACS certified Professional Soil Scientist responsible for conducting technical soil site investigations for beneficial use (agricultural and disturbed land) projects. His eye for detail and understanding of regulatory issues allow him to be involved in a variety of projects as a project scientist or project manager, focusing on site mapping, conservation planning, site qualification, database validation, and interacting with clients and regulatory agencies.

Aaron Stephens
Aaron is responsible for data and information management projects for Material Matters. In addition to serving as a project manager, he specializes in relational database development for regulatory and other information reporting and analysis. He began as a consultant for Material Matters in 2002 and became an employee in 2006.

Jennifer Callahan
Jenn has over eight years of experience conducting a variety of natural resource investigations, with over five years as a consultant. She is experienced in detailed environmental permitting, wetland and stream delineations/mitigation, environmental assessment preparation, and nutrient management studies. She is a project scientist responsible for biosolids, residuals, and nutrient management projects for Material Matters, including nutrient trading and beneficial use permitting.

Nance Fertich
Nance has more than 20 years of experience with writing, editing and producing public relations materials as Director of Community Relations for a mental health care system. In her current role as
Office Manager for Material Matters, she provides administrative assistance to the professional staff members including producing business development pieces, providing support for project managers, preparing a variety of internal reports, and overseeing invoice generation.
